ISRAEL USES BANNED WEAPONS AGAINST PALESTINIANS

Gaza, 17 Ramadan 1435/15 July 2014 (MINA) – Israel is using banned weapons to attack and kill the Gazan people, the Palestinian Deputy Minister of Health Dr Yousef Abu Al Rish said.

“The types of ammunition including Dense Inert Metal Explosive (DIME) which is prohibited by international law,” said Yousef Abu Al Rish at a press conference in Gaza on Sunday (14/7).

The Palestinian ministry of health revealed on Monday that the Israeli army has used a new type of explosive in its offensive on the Gaza Strip. These explosives contain toxics and radioactive materials which burn and tear the victim’s body from the inside and leave long term deformations.

The ministry called upon the international community and the humanitarian organizations to send an international medical community to examine the victims and confirm the truth about these banned weapons that Israel appears to be using.

The ministry showed that most of the injuries which the hospitals receive result from huge explosions which cause burning and severing of limbs, including the inner parts of the body. This causes long term deformations.

It is added that doctors in Gaza have been forced to amputate limbs of at least 12 injured Palestinians as a result of injuries sustained in the current Israeli offensive on the Strip.

It can cause cancer

Foreign Doctors in Gaza have confirmed that such Israeli occupation forces missiles are banned internationally because of its collateral damage effect, he said.

While according to Mads Gilbert, a Norwegian member of the medical team working in Gaza, DIME is a kinda of Low Collateral Damage (LCD) developed by the U.S. Air Force. DIME bomb releases fractional micro Heavy Metal – Tungsten Alloy (HMTA).

A study said HMTA attached to human body, interfere biochemical processes in the body and can cause cancer very quickly. As wasting uranium (DU), HMTA effects are damagin genes and can cause genetic mutations.

In terms of eksplosivity, DIME is believed to have a strong biological effect although not lethal weapons at once. Victims affected by this need to amputated because of muscle and bone arm torn. Victims are also very likely to contract cancer of shrapnel that can only felt about four to six months after.

Since the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip began on Tuesday (6/7), they are clearly targeting civilians and their shelters. Victims have generally been targeted at residential areas and they were attacked while at rest time.

As many as 185 people died of which 40 % of them are women and children. While the number of injured has reached 1385 in which 60 percent of them are children and women.

There were at least 10 families whose homes were destroyed and almost all members of the family died, such as family of Hamad, Kaware, Al haj, Abo Jamea, Abdul Ghafur, Ghanam, Arje, and Astal from various areas in the Gaza Strip.(L/P03/E01)
