Bandar Seri Begawan, 21 Syawwal 1437/26 July 2016  (MINA) Nurul Qamar – The Embassy of Indonesia will be organising a maritime exhibition in the first week of September, bringing various products from the country’s small-medium enterprises (SMEs).

Indonesia’s Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Nurul Qomar said recently that the annual event, which is also held in conjunction with the 71st commemoration of Indonesia’s Independence Day, will take place from September 3-5 at The Mall, Gadong.

“The exhibition is in line with our Indonesia’s policy towards enhancing maritime resources,” Nurul was quoted by Brunei Times as saying.

According to the Brunei Times, the three-day event will see participation of SME entrepreneurs from the Indonesian provinces of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Java as well as businesses from cities such as Bandung, Cirebon, Jakarta and Palembang.

Exhibitors will promote various maritime-related products and feature other SMEs products ranging from halal food, batik and songket (traditional Indonesian cloth with gold thread).

The embassy will also be organising a business meeting between Indonesian entrepreneurs and their Brunei counterparts on September 5 at Rizqun International Hotel.

Bruneian entrepreneurs interested to participate in the meeting are advised to register with the embassy by contacting its Economic Section at 2330800.

The exhibition can become an avenue for the entrepreneurs in Brunei to gain a better understanding of Indonesian SME products and boost the trade between both countries.
