INDONESIAN FOOD PRODUCTS BEST SELLING IN MALAYSIA EXPO
Kuala Lumpur, 5 Ramadan 1435/3 July 2014 (MINA) – Indonesian food and beverages products and other commodities got best selling in exhibition 15th Malaysia International Food and Beverages (MIFB) 2014, reaching $ 750 thousand.
“The number of transactions exceeds the expected target,” said the Indonesian Embassy of Commercial Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, Fajarini Puntodewi, Antara reported as quote by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) Thursday.
Puntodewi said, food and beverage products that achieved the transaction targets are tea, cocoa, diet products and fried chicken franchise.
She added, Indonesia small and medium unit products are the bestselling, so that all products are sold out. “The demand for Indonesian products not only from Malaysia, but also from other countries such as Bangladesh, Tunisia and Hong Kong,” she said.
In this exhibition, Pavilion Indonesia rent six stands and brought 18 companies consists of large, medium and small companies.
The products presented by Indonesian entrepreneurs are tea, coffee, chocolate, diet and health drinks, canned fish, Rendang (North Sumatra special dishes) and small industry food products such as bakpia, cakes, snacks, and instant seasoning.
Although Malaysian market is not big due to the numbar of its population, but Indonesian products still has great potential to export to other international markets.
Products such as tea, coffee and cocoa from Indonesia has a very good in international market, due to the high quality and low transportation costs compared with competitors from Africa.
The exhibition run on 19 to21 June 2014 attended by 400 exhibitors, including 26 international exhibitors from China, Ecuador, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore.
