INDONESIA URGED ITS COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT HALAL TOURISM

Jakarta, 9 Muharram 1437/22 October 2015 (MINA) – Economic observers and marketing from the University of Padjadjaran Bandung Popy Rufaidah assess the government should encourage the community to support halal tourism programs, especially Indonesia has won the award for three times in the world at the event “The World Halal Travel Award 2015”.

“It’s should be a socialization, more massive and effective which also which also require the support of all stakeholders the tourism industry,including all citizens,” said Popy, Antara News quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

He said, the achievments of the international awards it is not just the appreciationd and improve the national tourism, but it should embody the concept of halal tourism for Indonesia at the world level.

He mentioned, the halal tourism awards gained the international level is an opportunity and challenge for the government.

According Popy, Indonesia has a special attraction for foreign Muslim tourist through branding “Wonderful Indonesia”.

She considers, Indoensia has a capital criteria halal tourism resource, halal natural resources, halal entertainment facilities, halal sport facilities and leisure qith various other standardization.

Popy convinced, halal tourism concept was based on the criteria and directives of authorities such as the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

The Director of the Master Program of Management Faculty of Business Economics Padjajaran was suggested that the government could take the advantage of branding Wonderful Indonesia through “value creation” as necessary of market segments.(T/P008/R04)
