Jakarta, 22 Rabi’ul Awwal 1436/13 January 2014 (MINA) – The member of Honorary Board Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI), Adi Sasono said, the presence of Indonesian hospital in Gaza inspired the young generation to provide humanitarian solidarity for brothers who are oppressed.

According to him, the hospital was the proof of brotherhood between Palestinians and Indonesian people.

“The development of Indonesian hospital inspires young people to help fellows,” said Adi Sasono to Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s reporter in Jakarta, Monday.

The Former Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises in the era of President BJ Habibie said, Indonesia hospital was a historical evidence that Indonesian people could realize a solidarity.

Right now, as many as 19 Indonesian volunteers from Al-Fatah foundation are still in the Gaza Strip to complete  medical aquipments so that the hospital could immediately operate.

The development of Indonesia Hospital in Gaza started from May 14, 2011. It is built on a land of 16,261 m2 which was an endowments from Palestinian government in Gaza. The land was handed over by the Palestinian Health Minister Baseem Naem to the Chairman of the Presidium of the MER-C Joserizal Journalis on January 23, 2009.

The location of Indonesia Hospital is about 2.5 km from the Israeli border so Israeli drone always monitore it.

Indonesian hospital in the Gaza Strip is a result of a long-term friendship between the people of Indonesia and the Palestinians where all funds come from  Indonesian people from Sabang to Merauke. (L/P009/R03)
