Al-Quds, MINA – The Imam (spiritual leader) of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, condemned the decision to close the Waqf offices on Al-Aqsa, as part of the fight against Arab, and describing it as “null and void.”
In an interview with the Al-Resalah, Sabri said that Israel is adopting these steps as a way to seize control of part of the Al-Aqsa compound, Israel National News reported.
Sabri said that he would not refer to “the courts of the occupiers”, meant recognition of Israel and “would bring about the surrender of Al-Aqsa to the courts of the occupiers.”
Sabri said that the office slated for closure is near the Golden Gate on the eastern side of Al-Aqsa which is used for religious events and festivities. (T/RS2/RS5)
