Imaam Yakhsyallah Appeals Muslims Not Provoked by New Zealand Terror Attack

Bogor, MINA – Imaamul Muslimin Yakhsyallah Mansur appealed Muslims not to be provoked into retaliating by attacking other religion followers related to the brutal attacks on Muslims in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

“Muslims should not be provoked by counterattacking because it will only worsen the atmosphere of harmony among religious people. We also urge the New Zealand government to give maximum security for all New Zealand citizens, “Imaam Yakhsyallah told MINA in Bogor on Saturday, 16 March.

“May the world community now open their eyes, who is actually a terrorist and who is not,” he said.

Imaam Yakhsyalah also urge New Zealand Government to immediately process the perpetrators and impose severe penalties on them.

Muslims in New Zealand and throughout the world are encouraged to increase cohesiveness and ukhuwah according to the guidance in the Qur’an in Surah Al-Hujurat verse 10 that “Indeed those who believe are brothers.” And the words of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.”

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called the brutal shootings at Al-Noor Mosque in central Christchurch and another at Linwood sub urban mosque during Friday prayers, a well-planned “terrorist attack”.

New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush told reporters, 49 people died nad dozens are injured as a result of the attack. (T/Ais/P2)
