Hamas Accepts Initiative to Join Elections

Gaza, MINA – Head of Hamas Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, said Hamas accepted the initiative of Palestinian factions to end internal divisions of Palestine and bring about unity.

It was conveyed in a meeting attended by representatives of Palestinian factions held at his home on Thursday, September 26, palestinepost24 reported.

Haniyeh hopes that the factions’ leaders also succeeded in completing their mission with the brothers from leadership of another Palestinian faction, Fatah, to end the division and create unity for Palestinian struggle.

“I declare that I fully accept this national initiative, without modification, notes or other provisions,” he explained.

He hoped the initiative would be the starting point to regain Palestinian unity and end Palestinian divisions.

During the meeting, Haniyeh also told Palestinian factions present, that Hamas agreed to hold presidential and parliamentary elections, and the formation of national unity government.
