Earthquake Victims in West Lombok Receive Rehabilitation Funds

Lobar, West Lombok, MINA – A thousand of homes in West Lombok which hit by the earthquake several months ago have received rehabilitation funds.

According to the Head of Housing for Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Division Lobar Ratnawi as reported by MINA from 72,222 damaged houses in West Lombok, as many as 15,599 families have received rehabilitation paid in three stages.

“So the total funding for Phase I, II, III amounted to 278,215,000,000 Rupiah,” Ratnawi said in Lobar, NTB, Monday.

The result from coordination meeting of home repairs after earthquake on December 11, there are a number of inputs, starting from forming a joint task between National Army and Police for monitoring, evaluating national company that are still slow in completing nuts and bolts of Simple Healthy Instant House (Risha) structures.

Ratnawi said, along with the resumption of citizen validation, there are some changes in category of damage and addition of prospective beneficiaries.

Ratnawi explained the obstacles that faced in rehabilitation are still struggling with applicators who still did not complete the Risha panels with bolts and nuts so that the panels could not be erected.

She added, a validation process is being carried out in the field to ensure the category of houses are clear and clean.

“Another obstacle is the number of builders is still limited so that the construction of houses are slow. I hope that the community will be more active in building their own homes and following the direction of the facilitator team,” she said.

Ratnawi said, from 10 sub-districts in West Lombok, there are 585 families choosing Risha, 20 families choosing Rika, and 1,159 families choosing Riko. (T/Sj/RS5)
