Melbourne, 16 Dzulqa’dah 1436/31 August 2015 (MINA) – A Saudi Arabian pavilion named “the Cradle of Islam” was launched on Wednesday at the Islamic museum in the Australian city of Melbourne.

Nabeel Al-Saleh, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, opened the pavilion in the presence of several prominent Arab and Australian dignitaries, according to  IINA reports as received by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

Speaking on the occasion, Al-Saleh said the Kingdom’s support to the museum reflects the Saudi government’s keenness, in its capacity as the birthplace of the divine religion as well as the land of the two holy cities, in introducing the Islamic culture to the outside world.

Saudi Arabia had earlier granted $1 million to finance the activities of the museum, the Saudi Press Agency reported. (T/P007/R04)
