China Pledges $15 Million to Develop the Palestinian Economy

Beijing, MINA – Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday that his country will support Palestinian economic development with $15 million as part of a package for development of Middle Eastern countries.

Xi made this pledge during a meeting with representatives of 21 Arab countries as part of the eighth ministerial meeting of the Chinese-Arab States Cooperation Forum held in Beijing, WAFA reported.

He said that development is the key to many security problems in the Middle East.

China and Palestine signed in December a memorandum of understanding to study the feasibility of the Free Trade Area Agreement between the two countries.(R/R04/RS5)
