ASEAN New Building in Jakarta targeted to be completed in March 2019

Jakarta, MINA – The construction of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Building continues to be accelerated. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the construction of a building which located on Jalan Trunojoyo Nomor 1, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Republika reported.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said, the progress of the construction of the building has reached 85 percent and is targeted to be completed by March 2019.

“This building will have a Functioning Worthy Certificate (SLF). It is also designed as environmentally friendly with the Platinum Level Green Building Certificate standard from the Indonesia Green Building Council (GBCI), “Basuki said while conducting a joint review with Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Jakarta, Monday (7/1).

Among the 20 Green Building which were certified by GBCI consisting of Platinum levels as many as three buildings, namely Gunung Putri City, United Tractors HO Building, and PUPR Ministry Building, the Gold level is 12 buildings and silver as many as five buildings.

Minister Retno said, while optimizing the completion of work on time, it needs to be balanced with the quality.

The Construction is carried out on an area of ​​11,369 square meters with a building area of ​​49,993 square meters. The building has two towers with each of 16 floors, which are equipped with two basements and one podium consisting of five floors. The construction also accommodated earthquake resistant buildings.

To connect the two towers, there is a 40.5 meter skybridge. This bridge became the longest bridge in Indonesia for the category of building bridges without support and received an award certificate from the Indonesian World Record Museum.

The total budget for the construction of this building is Rp. 448.77 billion using the budgetary funds 2017-2018. (T/P2)
