MANY AMERICAN JEWS NO LONGER SUPPORT ISRAELI REGIME

Zionism9Washington DC, 12 Sha’ban 1435/10 June 2014 (MINA) – American journalist Mark Glenn says American Jews do not support Israel because they are nervous about the public awareness of the true nature of the regime.

“What Israel is doing now to the Palestinians and what Israel is doing to all of these other countries in the region, this is not something that began with Benjamin Netanyahu,” he said in an interview with Press TV as by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

“This is something that’s been going on literally for half a century, so why only now are these huge groups beginning to have second thoughts about their support for Israel, where has it been for the last fifty plus years,” he added.

“They’re becoming very nervous over the amount of public awareness that has taken place because of outlets such as Press TV and others,” said Glenn, Co-Founder of Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement.

According to a new report, many American Jews no longer support Israeli policy in the occupied Palestinian territories.

“Israel now bitterly dividing Jewish communities” in the United States, Rachel Zoll wrote in an article on the Associated Press website.

“Internal American Jewish conflict has worsened as many Israel advocates have come to feel under siege in the US. The international boycott movement against Israel over its treatment of the Palestinians has gained some momentum in the US, and critics increasingly draw analogies between Israeli policies and South African apartheid,” Zoll said.

Glenn also said many of these American Jews are not necessarily opposed to Israel based on humanitarian grounds, but they’re very nervous over the negative press. (T/P01/E01).
