AL-QASSAM KILL 131 ISRAELI SOLDIERS
Gaza, 5 Shawwal 1435/1 August 2014 (MINA) – Izzuddin al-Qassam Brigades, military wing of Hamas’ movement said that they had killed at least 131 Israeli occupation soldiers and injured hundreds of others in firefight since beginning of ground war in Gaza.
That was al-Qassam’s official statement, Thursday night, Gaza time, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s correspondent reported.
Some killed soldiers were officers from elite Israeli soldiers.
“The amount is result of direct counting from al-Qassam fighters when they killed Israeli soldiers in close range. The dead soldiers do not include soldiers in Merkava tanks blown up by mines or hit by rockets,” said MINA’s correspondent .
Israeli occupation soldiers who were killed and wounded reached more than 500 people. Israeli institution, Red David Star announced 549 people injured since a few days ago.
Al-Qassam stated they killed 20 Israeli soldiers in various heroic actions at last two days.
Al-Qassam launched at least 146 rockets of various kinds from morning till night on 25th days battle. They called the operation with “Asf Al Ma’kul”.
They also had launched at least 44 Rockets with 107 type into several regions in Israel such as Kisufim, Nir Yitzhak, Zikkim and Shoufa since Thursday morning .
Rockets with Haun types became mainstay of al-Qassam’s attack at close range battle in Bayt Lahiya, Deir Balah, Jabaliya, Karum Abu Shalim Zaitun and few other places. The attacks caused at least 10 Israeli soldiers injured, three of them in critical condition.
Al-Qassam fighters reached great achievements at the first day after Eid al-fitr. They entered to israel’s defensive line succesfully in eastern Shujai’yah. Then they killed 10 Israeli soldiers and seized a weapons with Tavor type from Israeli soldier of elite unit.
Hamas fighters kill three more Israeli soldiers
The military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says resistance fighters have killed three more Israeli soldiers in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades said its fighters inflicted the latest fatalities on the Israeli military during clashes in the east of al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City on Thursday.
The Palestinian fighters also killed over a dozen Israeli soldiers in a bomb attack east of Khan Yunis on Wednesday.
Israeli military says it has so far lost nearly 60 of its troops in clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters, but Hamas says over 131 Israeli soldiers have been killed over the past 24 days. This is seen as the heaviest loss of life for the Israeli military in years.
Israeli media reports say over 140 Israeli soldiers have been hospitalized with combat injuries. Nearly 14 of them are reportedly in critical condition.
Israel has kept tight reins on media outlets with regards to the exact number of Israeli soldiers captured or killed during its ongoing assault on the besieged coastal enclave.
The rising death toll of Israeli forces during the ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip has prompted growing opposition to the war among the Israeli public.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aerial and ground offensive in the war-stricken Gaza Strip keeps rising.
More than 1,437 Palestinians have so far been killed and over 8,000 others injured since the Israeli military first launched its offensive on Gaza on July 8.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has condemned Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip as “deliberate defiance” of international law. (L/K01 Syt/E01)
