Ramallah, 28 Ramadan 1438/23 June 2017 (MINA) – Palestinian Presidential spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudainah, said on Thursday that the meeting of President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah with the White House Senior Adviser, Jared Kushner, and US President’s envoy, Jason Greenblatt, touched on ‘final status’ issues, including the issues of refugees and prisoners.

According to the Wafa News Agency, Abu Rudainah added that President Abbas affirmed his commitment to the two-state solution and stressed the need to create an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.
The President also reaffirmed his commitment to a just and comprehensive peace on the basis of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Kushner confirmed to President Abbas the commitment of US President Donald Trump to advancing a serious peace deal.
Trump has described peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians as “the ultimate deal” and made it a priority. As well as receiving both Netanyahu and Abbas in the White House, he visited the region last month. (T/RS5/RS1)
