Abbas Discusses Peace Efforts, Israeli Settlement Activities and Bilateral Relations with Tunisia

Tunis, 13 Shawwal1438/8 July 2017 (MINA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Friday discussed with the Tunisian Prime Minister Yousuf Shahed the peace process, US peace efforts as well as bilateral relations with Tunisia, WAFA reported.

Abbas arrived in Tunis Thursday evening in an official visit, which will last three days.

During their meeting, Abbas briefed Shahed on the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and discussed Israel’s ongoing illegal settlement expansion as well as the arbitrary measures taken against the Palestinian people.

Last Monday, Abbas began an official trip to Ethiopia, flew to France on Tuesday and arrived in Tunisia on Thursday.

His next destination will be Egypt where he is expected to land in Cairo on Saturday.  (T/RS5/RS1)
