Indonesia Regrets North Korea’s Missile Test

Jakarta, 11 Shawwal 1438/5 July 2017 (MINA) – Indonesia expressed its deeply regret over North Korea’s missile test on July 4, 2017, which is not in accordance with the spirit to create peace and stability in the region and in the world.

The missile test is contrarary to North Korea’s obligation to the NSC resolutions, particularly Resolution 2270 (2016) and 2321 (2016), and 2356 (2017).

In a press release on Wednesday (5/7), the Foreign Ministry said Indonesia urged North Korea to fully fulfill its international obligations, including fully implementing UNSC resolutions.

Indonesia also urges all parties to exercise restraint in order to avoid tensions in the region.

Indonesia re-emphasizes the importance of stability in the Korean Peninsula. Indonesia invites all countries to contribute to the creation of peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula.(T/RE1/RS5)
