This came during a meeting between both leaders, which came within ongoing coordination to breathe life into the peace process and Palestinian cause, Jordan’s Petra news agency reported.

They also discussed the outcomes of the Jordanian King’s recent talks in Washington with US President Donald Trump as well as Abbas’s planned visit to the US.

Both sides further reviewed the Arab Peace Initiative that was re-launched during the recent Arab summit in Jordan, which was seen by King Abdullah as the most comprehensive framework to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Furthermore, they called for preserving the historical status in Jerusalem, which is a holy city for Arabs and Muslims, while denouncing all Israeli unilateral measures, which pose a threat to the holy city’s Arab identity. *T/RS5RS1)
