IPYG Opened a Seminar of Peace with Youth in Medan
Medan, 12 Rabi’ul Awwal 1438/12 December 2016 (MINA) – Peace seminar had taken place in the auditorium of Islamic National University in Medan, Indonesia recently, emphasizing youth role in realising peace.
The event was held by YOUTH ICON and the UIN Sumatera Utara with the co-host the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG). The event was to recognize the importance of peace and form culture of peace between youths, according to a statement.
The peace seminar was a good opportunity to educate the youth’s role for world peace. At the seminar, participants shared peace message of Mr. Man Hee Lee of the chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and indirectly experienced wars through a program.
They also shared ideas how to support Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) so that it can be introduced to UN between the 9th and the 10th.
Chairman Man Hee Lee said to them through video,”Who can compensate sacrifices of young people who lost their lives without ever having the chance to mature and enjoy the prime of their youth.”
He asked young people to work for peace and cessation of war to protect themselves.
As Indonesia has volunteer military system and youth have never experienced wars, this seminar was special to Indonesian youth. Participants and had an opportunity to think about wars and could recognize the necessity of peace.
Robinson Sembiring, one of the lectures in University of Sumatera Utara (USU) who attended the seminar and program said “There are lots of wars and conflicts in the world, but everyone is longing for peace. I am convinced that the awareness of youth has aspiration of peace through the event as an owner of new peace era”
IPYG, a subsidiary organization of HWPL, is working to Spread the world peace without wars to all the youth in the world. IPYG will continue the peace seminar and exchange programs to more than 20 universities in Medan area after this first seminar. It is to spread the DPCW, especially article 10. (L/R05/R04)
