Africa Muslim Agency to construct Mosque in Pakau Njogu

Pakau Njogu, 20 Dhulqo’dah 1437/23 August 2016 (MINA) – Africa Muslim Agency on early this month laid the foundation stone of a grand mosque in Pakau Njogu in Upper Nuimi, North Bank Region. The construction is expected to last four months.

Alh. Sheriff Jallow of Kerr Mama laid the foundation stone on behalf of the Khalipha General of Medina Serigne Mass. He said the mosque would strengthen the Islamic faith and called on Muslims to be God fearing and uphold the teaching of Islam, thepoint.gm reported.

Alagie Njie Bah, a representative of Africa Muslim Agency, said the agency’s construction of the Mosque is part of its commitment to the propagation of Islam.

“The construction of the mosque would provide opportunity for worshippers to hold congregation prayers and promote the teaching of Islam,” he said.

Mam Cherno Jallow, National Assembly Member of Upper Nuimi, the construction of the mosque would complement the government’s efforts in strengthening Islam.

He called on the people of Pakau Njogu to maintain proper upkeep of the facility when completed.

Modou Ida Bah, the village chief, and Imam Alhaji Njogu Anta Bah, thanked Africa Muslim Agency for the gesture and assured of community’s involvement in the construction.(T/R04/R03)
