Libya Ambassador Supports International Media Conference For Palestine
Jakarta, 14 Sha’ban 1437/22 May 2016 (MINA) – Libyan ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Sadegh Bensadegh expressed his support for the International Conference of Islamic Media (ICIM) to be held on 25 -26 May in Jakarta.
The statement was said at the time of the graduation Arabic Training Center in Jakarta, Friday (20/5).
The conference titled “Islamic Media United to Protect Islam and Muslims interest, Especially Palestine and Al-Quds Liberation” is expected to be a place for media to sit together and bring back unity as it is the basic teaching in Islam.
“Islamic media should unite to support Muslims in many parts of the world, especially in a red zone like Palestine. In Lybia, we also participated in a number of activities to defend the Palestinians, such as collecting material and non material assistances,” he told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), in Jakarta, Friday (20/5).
The ambassador said that the Islamic media should give a good image in the eyes of the world, with a wise and fair as possible.
“Nowadays, many Islamic media cornered, so it must be united, I appreciate Indonesia to continue this effort for Palestine,” he said.
The two days conference to invite Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia for opening remarks in Wisma Antara (Auditorium Adhiyana) Central Jakarta. The committee has also invited the editor in chief of news agencies and media organizations from 50 countries.
The conference will be presented by some international speakers, among them Imaam Shamsi Ali (Founder Nusantara Foundation; USA), Dr. Daud Abdullah (Director of Middle East Monitor; UK), Sheikh Ahmad Shoyyan (Editor in Chief of Al-Bayan magazine; Saudi Arabia), and Ahmad Ashaaf (chief editor of the Palestinian News Agency WAFA; Palestine).
The conference will also be attended officials, scholars, community leaders and activists.(L/R04/R03)
