Ramallah, MINA – Around 1,250,000 Palestinian students started their new school year Wednesday in 3,000 public, private, and UNRWA schools in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Education and High Education said.

The ministry pointed out that it has established 25 new schools, ten of them in Gaza Strip, and rehabilitated 70 others throughout occupied Palestine.

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and the Minister of Education and Higher Education Sabry Saidam attended early today the opening ceremony of two new schools in al-Khalil city and Abu Dis town in occupied Jerusalem.

For his part, the head of the education and culture sector in Gaza Kamal Abu Aoun extended his congratulations on the start of the new school year to all workers in the education ministry, students, parents, and the Palestinian people in general.
