Ankara, 12 Ramadan 1436/29 June 2015 (MINA) – New figures released by the Turkish government have claimed that the country is hosting 194,000 civilians displaced by fighting just across the Syrian border.

Turkey has sent nearly 2,000 vehicles with humanitarian aid to people in the northern Syrian town of Kobani since September 19, 2014.

The Turkish Prime Ministry Office of Public Diplomacy stated Saturday that accepting the civilians into Turkey had enabled an international coalition to launch airstrikes around Kobani, the scene of fighting between Daesh and Kurdish militias. Anadolu Agency reports as quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

Turkey has also sent food, water, clothing, medicine and personal hygiene products to civilians unwilling to leave the town.
