TNI Commited to Secure Indo-Pacific Region

Honolulu, MINA – The Commander  of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto has stressed,that  the TNI’s commitment is to create regional security and ensure access to global interests in providing the foundation of economic dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region.

He made the remarks  when attending the 2018 Chief of Defense Conference (CHOD) along with 26 Commander of the Armed Forces from some invited countries at Prince Waikiki hotel, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States, Wednesday (12/9).

“The limited joint dialogue between countries in resolving different issues is an important tool to remove barriers and obstacles between friendly countries, both traditional security issues and transnational issues, such as energy security, piracy and world health,” said Hadi.

Indonesia had always tried to improve national security through an active role in the Indo-Pacific region and increased cooperation with other countries in the context of combating acts of terrorism, cooperation in maritime security and enhanced regional security,” Hadi added.

During the meeting, Hadi was accompanied by Asintel, TNI Commander, Maj. Gen. Agus Surya Bakti and Kapuskersin TNI, Laksma Tatit Eko Witjaksono.

The CHOD was attended by participating countries such as, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, China, Fiji, France, Indonesia, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste, Tonga, England, United States and Vietnam.
