Ramallah, 12 Dzulhijjah 1435/6 October 2014 (MINA) – Thousands of Palestinians detained in Israeli jails are denied family visitation by the Israeli authorities under the pretext of security preventive measures, Sunday reported the Palestinian Prisoner’s club (PPC).

PPC said that a large number of prisoners have been denied family visitation for several years now, noting that the number of prisoners, who are denied family visitations, have doubled during the Islam’s biggest holiday on October 4th, Eid al-Adha (the 3-day Feast of Sacrifice), WAFA Palestinian News & Info Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

He said the Israeli authorities took further steps against prisoners through permits withdrawal from prisoners’ family members upon arrival at Israeli checkpoints, denying them the right to visit their detained family members without giving them any specific reasons.

To be noted, Israel took away around 120 visitation permits obtained through coordinating with the International Red Cross.(T/R05/P3)
