Taiwan Government Praises Indonesian Election

Jakarta, MINA – Taiwanese government specifically sent a congratulatory message to the Indonesian government which succeeded in holding the 2019 simultaneous election.

Taiwan also conveyed to 270,000 Indonesian voters living in Taiwan, likewise with the community.

According to Taiwan Government, Indonesian people, political parties, and all candidates provide examples of democratic maturity.

“This shows the success of development of Indonesian democracy and we are amazed,” wrote Taiwan Government Public Diplomacy Coordination press statement received by SINDOnews on Saturday.

Taiwan and Indonesia are geographically close and together share universal values such as freedom, democracy and the rule of law, and friendly relations.

“Since promoting the ‘New policy towards the South’, the relations between two countries have become increasingly tight, including in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, agriculture, tourism, and interaction between citizens increased significantly,” Taiwan Government statement said.

Taiwan also expressed its willingness to work with Indonesia on a good basis, upholding the spirit of mutual benefit, deepening cooperative relations between the two parties in various fields, defending freedom and democracy, and fighting for regional peace and prosperity. (T/Sj/P2)
