We should support, unite, and do our best for the Palestinian detainees  mainly the administrative ones  who have been on a hunger strike for about 28 days in a row, he added.

He confirmed that the Palestinian government and orphans institutions secure the educational, health,  and financial support for the orphans.

Salim Zanoun, Head of the Palestinian National Council, revealed that a specialized committee is working on drafting a new constitution for the Palestinians, and it will be presented to a referendum.

Zanoun said, on Tuesday, that the Constitution will be discussed deeply during the meetings of the leadership of the PLO.

He stressed that the National Unity Government will be announced within three days, after the return of President Mahmoud Abbas from his overseas trip.

The meetings, held between Hamas and Fatah in Gaza, led to the announcement of the end of division, and resulted in the start of the formation of the Unity Government, which actually began weeks ago. Zanoun pointed out that the interim framework of the PLO leadership will be held within three weeks. “There will be consultation with the Egyptians to host the meeting in Cairo,” said he.

Zanoun confirmed that the PLO is the only representative of the Palestinians.

On April 23, Hamas and Fatah signed a reconciliation deal in Gaza with the aim of healing the rifts that marred their relations since 2007.

The deal stipulates the formation of a national unity government until legislative and presidential elections are held in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.(T/P02/E01)
