Ramallah, 23 Rabi’ul Awwal 1436/14 January 2014 (MINA) – Saudi Arabia said Tuesday that it transferred $60 million to the Palestinian Authority after Israel froze millions of dollars in tax revenues when Palestine joined the International Criminal Court.
The Saudi ambassador to Egypt, Ahmad Qattan, said in a statement that the $60 million represented three months’ payment of a monthly contribution of $20 million, Ma’an News Agency quoted by Miraj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
The money covers the October, November, and December payments, the statement said.
It said that in the wake of Israel’s decision to freeze tax funds, Saudi Arabia had decided to increase its monthly support from $14 million to $20 million.
