Riyadh to Host Second International Conference on Terror In October
Riyadh, 15 Ramadan 1438/10 June 2017 (MINA) – The second international conference on command and control solutions under the theme of “Coalition Against Terrorism” will be held at Riyadh’s King Saud University in October.
Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will grace the event from Oct. 17 to 19. The conference will feature discussions on the importance of strengthening international alliances, achieving integration in the armed forces’ command and control systems, and providing them with the ability to monitor and respond to terrorist operations.
Conference organizing committee Chairman Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi said, “Command and control systems are now the vital nerve of the armed forces in confronting terrorism both through their field operations and through technical confrontation in cyberspace.” IINA News reported.
He explained, the conference will focus on transferring technology knowledge and the localization of specialized expertise in command and control systems as one of its main themes, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Ghamdi said the conference would target major industrial and financial sectors, which are also vulnerable to terrorist attacks. Last year’s event, “Building Local Capabilities,” saw more than 2,000 industry experts and professionals attend.
October’s event will be attended by more than 700 people, including senior military officers from the Saudi armed forces, as well as other members of the International Alliance against Terrorism.(T/R04/RS5)
