Gaza, MINA – The Rafah border crossing is continued to be closed on Wednesday in violation of the pledges made by the unity government during the of Egypt-brokered reconciliation deal.

No information have been given about the crossing’s scheduled opening till Tuesday night, PIC reporter quoted security sources as saying.

According to the PIC, the national unity government didn’t make any real effort to push for the opening of the border crossing, the sources charged.

In a statement issued shortly following the reconciliation deal, the PA minister of civil affairs, Hussein al-Sheikh, said the national unity government is prepared to work closely with Egyptian authorities to prepare the Rafah border crossing for operation by November 15, as specified by the 2005 Agreement on Movement and Access.
