Doha, MINA – The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Majed Al Ansari, issued a statement saying his country “condemns in the strongest terms” Tuesday’s Israeli attack in Doha. The spokesperson stated that the attack targeted a residential building inhabited by members of Hamas’s political bureau.
“This criminal aggression is a grave violation of all international laws and norms, and a serious threat to the security and safety of Qatar’s citizens and residents,” the statement said, as reported by QNN.
The statement went on to emphasize that “While strongly condemning this attack, the State of Qatar affirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior and its continued intervention in regional security, nor any act that targets its security and sovereignty. An investigation is underway at the highest level, and more details will be announced as soon as they are available.”
A senior Hamas source told Al Jazeera that the group’s leaders were targeted in Doha while discussing US President Donald Trump’s Gaza ceasefire proposal. []
