President Abbas Discusses National Reconciliation with Delegation of Egypt’s General Intelligence
Ramallah, MINA –President Mahmoud Abbas Saturday received a delegation of the Egyptian General Intelligence at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah and discussed the latest developments related to the Palestinian national reconciliation, WAFA reported.
The delegation reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast stance in support of the Palestinian people and their struggle to end the [Israeli ] occupation and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
It further stressed the continuation of Egypt’s efforts aimed at ending the Palestinian division and achieving reconciliation in order to strengthen the Palestinian people’s bonds of national unity within the framework of the Palestinian Authority; headed by president Abbas.
Both sides agreed to continuing contacts in the next few days to coordinate movement for achieving national reconciliation and overcoming all obstacles in order to strengthen the Palestinian national unity.
Secretary General of the Presidency Tayeb Abdel-Rahim and several members of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) attended the meeting. (T/RS5/RS1)
