POPULAR SCHOLAR AL-QARNI TO LEAD RAF’S RELIGIOUS INITIATIVES

Doha, 19  Safar 1437/30 November 2015 (MINA) –  Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services, known as RAF, has roped in the services of the celebrated Islamic scholar Dr Aidh Al- Qarni, to lead its various activities and initiatives, particularly those associated with religion and culture.

The Chairman of RAF’s Board of Directors, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani Al Thani, signed an agreement with Al Qarni for close cooperation and partnership with RAF.

 The scholar will particularly lead RAF’s religious and cultural initiatives, programmes and activities locally as well as internationally, according to the agreement inked.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Thani Al Thani, Deputy Chairman, Board of Directors, RAF, and Ayed Dabsan Al Qahtani, General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, RAF,  attended the signing ceremony, The Peninsula News, quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Addressing the media after the signing ceremony, Al Qarni said he was pleased to be associated with RAF which is a charitable organisation of international repute.

The cleric said RAF has been doing social good which is “beautifying the image of Islam”. Its charity works for orphans and the poor and hungry and its educational programmes and building of mosques are all steps that are building Islam’s image, Al Qarni added. (T/Imt/R04)
