Gaza, 12 Dhulqo’dah 1436/27 August 2015 (MINA) – First Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Parliament Ahmed Bahar yesterday called for the formation of a joint Palestinian-Egyptian committee to investigate the abduction of four Palestinians in Egypt, Qatari website Al-sharq.com reported.

During a protest held by the families of the abductees, Bahar said that the aim of this committee is to “look into all the details of the abduction to reveal the reasons and punish the perpetrators.”

“The abduction is a political, legal and ethical crime and a dangerous attempt to drag the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian resistance into the trap of chaos [related to Sinai].”

He described the abduction as an attempt to “cause a problem between the Palestinian and Egyptian brothers and to undermine the real efforts aiming to repair the officials’ relations with Egypt.” Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA). Wednesday.

The Palestinian official concluded his remarks calling for Egyptian authorities to work to release the four abductees as the crime was carried out in Egypt.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Fatah said the four were Hamas members.

Leaked documents revealed that the PA is involved in the abduction along with Egyptian, Israeli, American and British intelligence services. (T/P002/R03)
