Muslims Should Help One Another, Stay United, Says Raja Muda Perlis

Phuket, 21 Rabiul Akhir 1437/31 January 016 (MINA) – The Crown Prince (Raja Muda) of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said Muslims should help each other in strengthening the fraternity as well religious affairs.

He said the effort was in line with the concept of ‘Ummatan Wahidah’ which means ‘One Ummah’, to strengthen the identity of Islamic fraternity and brotherhood, which was the goal of Muslims in general.

“Our responsibility is to help uplift Muslims in worldly affairs as well as the hereafter, and avoid bad things.”Unity in Islam is not based on skin color, language, social background, state, or ethnicity, but on the pronouncement of ‘There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’,”he said when officiating the Indonesia-Malaysia-
Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) “Ummatan Wahidah” seminar here Saturday.

The Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil was also present at the event organised by the Perlis Islamic Religious Council (MAIPs) in collaboration with Islamic religious councils from 15 regions in southern Thailand, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) reported, quoting Bernama.

He said the Muslim brotherhood or ‘Ukwah Islamiyah’ required each Muslim to be courteous, love one another, and help one another in goodness and have piety without any animosity.

“Based on the concept of ‘Ummatan Wahidah’, we are like a family which needs to be aware that the wrong actions we do, can adversely affect the whole family,” he said.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said in the context of Muslims in Thailand, whose majority were non-Muslims, they need to protect the good name of Islam and avoid taking actions that could tarnish the sanctity of Islam.

He hoped Muslims in Thailand also contributed to the non-Muslims in the country in the sense of giving a noble image of Islam, in line with the concept Ummatan Wahidah.

A total of 150 participants including the president and members of Islamic reigious councils in southern Thailand attended the seminar. (T/R07/R01)
