MUSLIM TRADERS MUST DEFEAT JEWISH TRADERS

           Bogor, 23 Sha’ban 1434 / July 2, 2013 (MINA) – Islamic economy can beat the Jewish economy through trading, Islam came through tijaroh (trade) as a popular of ways and means to spread Islam as a religion especially in the early days of Islamic history.

         “Muslim trader could defeat the Jewish trader if there are no usury, no element of ghurur (fraud), antarodhin (no coercion between sellers and buyers),” said Yakhsyallah Mansur, leader of Ma’had Al Fatah Indonesia.

         “As  Muslims we have to pay attention to the requirements to be a good trader with the intention of worship and in accordance to sunnah as the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam and his companions do pratice as traders” he explained.

         Yakhsyallah explained in sha’ban event which was held in Pesantren Al Fatah, on Sunday (30/6) that the traders must do shalat as the priority than trading.

         He also expects that if the traders have got the benefit so they have to divide it into three parts, one third for themselves, one third for infaq and shadaqa, and one third for their capital as traders.

         Previously Dudin Shobarudin, one of the participants from Malaysia expects the market should sell homemade products such as sauce, ketchup etc.

         He also added that it is better to build a permanent market which has different visiting times between men and women in order to avoid ikhtilat (mingling between men and women). He was referring to a seasonal market that was held in Al Fatah that coincided with a yearly Sha’ban “Tabligh Akbar” (Large Taklim).

         Chairman of the Market committee, Muqorrobin, was intending to make it permanent market building. “Later on Insha Allah we will build a permanent market here,” he said. (L/P010/P06/P05/E1)
