Bethlehem, 14 Dzulhijjah 1436/28 September 2015 (MINA) – Palestinian Detainees Committee revealed that the health condition of a minor captive has become very serious due to being shot by an Israeli dumdum bullet.

The lawyer of the committee, Tareq Barghout, said the 13-year-old captive Essa Ahmad al-Muti, from Bethlehem, may lose his right foot due to laceration after being shot. He has been held in Hadasa Hospital tied to bed under tight security measures since he was arrested on September 18.

“We are seeking to get him released because of his young age and critical health condition”, the lawyer said, holding Israeli soldiers responsible for the minor’s health, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting, Monday (28/9).

Lawyer Barghout pointed out that shooting of Palestinian children goes in line with the Israeli government’s latest decisions on stone throwers. “The Israeli government’s resolutions are premeditated orders of field execution”, he charged.

A surgery was conducted on the boy’s foot, but it failed which indicates that his foot would be amputated leaving him disabled forever.

Hundreds of Palestinian minors are held in Israeli jails including those who are injured with live bullets amid medical negligence.(T/P008/R03)
