Jakarta, MINA – Legendary Indonesian poet Taufik Ismail moved audiences with his emotional poem “Palestine, Bagaimana Aku Bisa Melupakanmu” (“Palestine, How Can I Forget You”) during a seminar and exhibition titled “Semangat Gaza untuk Bela Palestina” (“Gaza’s Spirit in Defending of Al-Aqsa Mosque”), held at the HB Jassin Auditorium, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta on Thursday.
A literary legend known for championing humanity through poetry, Taufik delivered his performance with deep solemnity, calling for global solidarity with the Palestinian people and the protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s first qibla.
Joining him was writer and journalist Jamal D. Rahman, who highlighted the enduring role of literature and the arts in championing justice and human rights.
The event was organized by the Aqsa Working Group (AWG), an Indonesian advocacy group dedicated to defending Al-Aqsa and supporting Palestine through education, activism, and humanitarian initiatives.
