Ambassador Al-Ghunaim affirmed that Kuwait’s quick response to support refugees from Myanmar Muslims minority is a confirmation of its pioneering role in the field of humanitarian work.

This role is welcomed and respected by the International community, he added.
The United Nations has confirmed that the number of Rohingya Muslims fleeing violence against them in their country has exceeded half a million since August 25 this year, the largest displacement in a short period of time.

The UN organizations working there are concerned about the worsening of Myanmar’s refugees due to lack of funding for care programs, which exceed 400 million dollars to cover their needs over the next six months. (T/RS5/RS1)
