Srinagar, MINA – Currently, the Kashmir region, particularly the capital city of Srinagar, is experiencing winter with relatively low temperatures.

Hindustan Times reported on Tuesday that winter in Kashmir typically lasts from December to February, with temperatures often dropping below freezing, especially at night.

During this period, the region frequently experiences heavy snowfall, which can disrupt daily life, such as road closures and power outages.

Local residents have become accustomed to the extreme winter conditions and take various measures to cope. They typically prepare sufficient supplies of food and fuel to withstand potential isolation due to snow.

Additionally, the local community often collaborates to clear snow from roads and ensure that essential infrastructure remains functional.

The local government ensures preparedness for the winter season by providing emergency services and ensuring the availability of basic necessities for the population.

Although winter brings challenges, the natural beauty of Kashmir during this period also attracts tourists who wish to enjoy the snowy scenery and engage in other winter activities. (T/RE1/P2)
