Jokowi Receives Credentials from 11 Foreign Ambassadors

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received credentials from 11 foreign Ambassadors of friendly countries, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday afternoon, among them the new Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Esam A. Abid Althagafi.

Ambassador Althagafi, who previously served as Ambassador in Oslo, Norway, replaced the previous Ambassador Osama Al Shuaibi.

Before submitting the credentials, each ambassador arrived at the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace accompanied by the national anthem of each country of the ambassador as a welcoming ceremony, according to the Setkab report.

Furthermore, the ambassadors entered the credential space to submit the credentials.

The President was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State Pratikno, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung then invited each ambassador to do a veranda talk or talk on the terrace behind the Merdeka Palace.

Including Althagafi, following the names of 11 ambassadors of friendly countries who submitted credentials to the President:

  1. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Chile Gustavo Ayares Ossandon;
  2. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia Riadh Dridi;
  3. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Jarovlas Chlebo;
  4. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname Clarice Toatie Abas-Martotaroeno;
  5. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Carlos Antonio Moreno;
  6. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia Juan Camilo Valencia Gonzalez;
  7. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Esam A. Abid Althagafi;
  8. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Venezuelan Bolivarian Republic, Radames Jesus Gomez Azaje;
  9. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia, Jurij Rifeij;
  10. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Congo, Felix Ngoma; and
