Ramallah, 8 Rabi’ul Awwal 1436/30 December 2014 (MINA) – Israeli forces launched a major operation of detentions and home raids early Tuesday (30/12) in the village of Sinjil north of Ramallah, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said.

The group said in a statement that about 30 young men were detained for several hours and questioned in the street, before being released. Ma’an News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The individuals were taken as Israeli forces raided homes in the town, ransacking them during inspections.

An Israeli military spokeswoman told Ma’an that nine people from the village were taken away for further questioning following the raid.

She said that they were suspected of  involvement in illegal activity.

The statement released by the prisoner society identified six of those taken away as Azzam Shabana, Muhammad Abdullah Ghifri, Muhammad Ribhi Ghifri, Shadi Munthir Masalma, Ahmad Sami Tawafsha, and Ziad Mousa Khalil.

The identities of the remaining three were not clear. (T/P006/R03)
