Saada, Yemen, 2 Rajab 1436/21 April 2015 (MINA) – Leader of Yemen’s Houthi movement took a swipe at Washington for supporting Saudi Arabia in its military attacks against the people of Yemen, saying that the US and Israel have backed the aggression.

While the Saudi-led offensive on Yemen has entered its fourth week, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said on Sunday at Saada that the US is behind the aggression and engineers the war on Yemen, Tasnim News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

He said Yemeni children are being killed by the American bombs and missiles that the Saudi-led coalition drops on the Arab country.

The US gave the green light for the Saudi attack on Yemen and has been supporting it, he said.

The Ansarullah leader added that Israel is also pleased with the strikes on Yemen and considers the aggression to be serving its interests.

He further praised Iran for its responsible approaches towards the Islamic world developments, particularly the issue of Palestine.

Al-Houthi then dismissed the notion that Iran seeks to spread its influence abroad, and described Tehran’s support for the Yemeni nation as a sign of commitment to moral and humanitarian principles.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to militarily interfere in Yemen’s internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
