Islamic Fund Carries Out Projects Worth USD 249 Million

Jeddah, 4 Ramadan 1438/30 May 2017 (MINA) – The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) announced on Monday that it has conducted since its inception around 2,259 projects, at a cost of over USD 249 million, KUNA reported.

Palestine has been the recipient of the lion’s share of aid provided by ISFD, the fund noted in a statement, citing that aid delivered to Palestine runs the gamut from healthcare and social support to educational assistance.

Moreover, the statement pointed out that the education sector was the focal point of ISFD’s agenda, where roughly USD 75 million worth of projects were carried out for educational purposes.

On other aid provided, the statement added that ISFD has also delivered monetary sums of USD 55 million to Islamic nations victimized by natural disasters.

On ISFD’s primary objectives, the statement underscored that the fund remains committed to promote the Islamic faith through various publications that extol the virtues of Islam. (T/RS5/RS1)
