Iraqi President Meets King of Jordan Discussing Palestine

Amman, MINA – Iraqi President Barham Salih met Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Amman to discuss bilateral relations, current situation in territories, and Palestinian issues.

According to a written statement from Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah met Iraqi President Salih at Basman al-Zahir Palace in Amman on Sunday as qouted from Anadolu Agency (AA).

The two leaders discussed increasing bilateral relations, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

In addition, both of them discussed the current situation in the region and international issues.

King Abdullah stressed that he was always beside Baghdad government in ensuring Iraq’s security and stability.

In addition, both parties also discussed the Palestinian issue. King Abdullah reiterated the need to support Palestinians to obtain their legal rights establishing an independent state with capital city of Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) according to the 1967 agreement.

The two leaders also stressed importance of expanding cooperation and coordination between Jordan-Iraq-Egypt in accordance with the resolution of three-party meeting in Cairo, March. (T/Sj/P2)
