Indonesian Women’s Sepak Takraw Beats Japan 3-0
Palembang, MINA – The Indonesian women’s sepak takraw team won 5-0 over Japan in field one of Ranau Hall, Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) Palembang, South Sumatra, on Sunday.
During the match, the Indonesian national team played without facing any significant resistance from the Japanese players, asiangames2018.id reported.
“Playing without burden made the Indonesian team more relaxed. But they can’t feel relieved yet as in the third match tomorrow they will face Vietnam’s strong team and then Malaysia on the following day,” said All-Indonesia Sepak Takraw Association general chairman Asnawi in Palembang on Sunday.
Optimism was also shown by Leni, one of the key players of the national team, who said she was going to keep struggling in spite of the loss from Myanmar in the first match earlier in the morning.
“This doesn’t mean a defeat yet as we’re striving to compensate for it. The opportunity to do it is still there,” said Leni following the competition.
On the first day of sepak takraw contests in the 2018 Asian Games, Indonesia bagged two victories from three matches in the men’s team and women’s group team.(L/R04/RS5)
