Indonesian Citizen in Victim of Ethiopian Airlines Accident
Jakarta, MINA – One Indonesian Citizen (WNI) is included as victims of the Ethiopian Airlines accident which previously fell shortly after taking off from Bole Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday.
“Until this day, this morning, we have not received any information regarding the discovery of bodies from Indonesian citizen,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir at his office, Pejambon, Central Jakarta, Monday.
Although there is no clear information about the identification process, he mentions that the staff of the Indonesian Embassy always communicate with local authorities to keep up-to-date information. All developments will be submitted afterwards.
“We are still waiting for the process of investigation and search for victims that has been carried out.”
“The Indonesian Embassy in Rome will continue to coordinate with our Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa and of course with the office of the WFP (World Food Program) in Rome related to the recovery of repatriation and other assistance needed by the family,” he said.
Previously, the victim of the Indonesian citizen was known as Harina Hafitz. The victim is a woman who lives and works in Rome, Italy. She worked for WFP, a food agency under the auspices of the United Nations (UN).
She was included in 157 passengers and crew members of the Boeing 737 Max 8 who had an accident. All passengers and flight crew from 35 different countries.(L/Sj/P2)
