Jakarta,14 Jumadil Akhir 1437/24 March 2016 (MINA) – The Indonesian government welcomed New Zealand Prime Minister John Keys plan to visit Indonesia in 2016, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received here, Wednesday.
“This visit will further enhance the relations between the two countries,” Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi noted in a joint press statement with New Zealand Immigration Minister Michael Woodhouse.
The two ministers met on the sidelines of the 6th Regional Ministerial Conference of “Bali Process” on People Smuggling, Human Trafficking, and Transnational Crime or BRMC VI in Bali on Tuesday (March 22), Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) reported, quoting Antara.
Prime Minister Keys visit to Indonesia will focus on discussing investment, education, and technical cooperation between the two countries.

The New Zealand prime minister last visited Indonesia in April 2012.
One of the issues to be agreed during the upcoming visit by the New Zealand prime minister to Indonesia this year is the result of the discussion on cooperation on border control and migration management between the two countries.
Besides this, the two ministers also discussed the plan to intensify cooperation in addressing the root causes of the irregular migrant issue in the region and seek a long-term and comprehensive solution.
Indonesia and New Zealand will jointly host the special working group on the disruption of criminal networks.

The working group will produce concrete cooperation guidelines to dismantle criminal networks, especially those related to people smuggling and human trafficking in the Asia-Pacific region (T/R07/R01)
