Indonesia Reaffirms Support for Palestine

Indonesian President Joko Widodo regrets Jerusalem capital decision.

Istanbul, MINA – President Joko Widodo has reaffirmed that Indonesia’s support to the Palestinian struggle would only increase and never wane.

“Indonesia will always be with Palestine,” Antara News quoted the president as stating in his speech at the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He noted that the support would not only be in the political form but also in capacity building and economy. He remarked that Palestine would always be in the heart of the Indonesian foreign policy.

Palestine will always be in the Indonesian diplomacy, he added.

The Indonesian government has strongly condemned the decision of the US to recognize Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.

Indonesia has asked the US to reconsider its decision because “it is against the resolutions of the UN, in which the US is also a member, and will disrupt world security and stability.” (T/RS5/RS1)
