Indonesia Prones to Disasters, Youth Needs to be Encouraged Emergency Response
Jakarta, MINA – Indonesia is a country which is prone to earthquakes due to natural factors. A number of disasters throughout 2018 are proof of the vulnerability of the earthquake that hit the country, Monday.
The Chairperson of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Haris Pertama said, Indonesian people need for special training for youth to build awareness of the dangers from natural disasters. Viva reported.
“Indonesia is in the area of a ring fire, So, Indonesian youth must be ready to become a rescue team when needed,” Haris said in a statement released on Monday.
Haris added that with the training, young generation as the next generation had an important role in the prevention or control of when and after the disaster happened. He said, it is the time for the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), and National Search and Rescue Agemcy (Basarnas) cooperated with youth forming special training.
